Köp billigt fika och bläddra i de begagnade böckerna, fynda en julklapp eller bara andas en stund. Tydligen brukar de anordna fester, författarkvällar och konserter, så håll lite koll på öppettiderna.

Sit down with some cheap coffee and a used book, find a bargain christmas present or just breath for a little while. They also organize parties, readings and music events, so sometimes they close early.

oh, i just love housing works!!! it’s my favorite used books store in the city. i mean yeah, Strand can have it all, but it doesn’t have the same cozy, homey and friendly atmosphere as housing works – by a long shot! and they have such yummy treats too! and i guess it can be a bit of a cruising spot too if that’s what you’re in the mood for.
