Vi tog med Stefan och Jeanette till gamla favoriten Pulino’s (282 Bowery) för en enkel lördagmiddag. Vi fick visserligen vänta en timme pÃ¥ bord, men det var det värt. Ost- och brödfrossa! Till förrätt en helt fantastisk mozarella barrata och ungsbakad ricotta med rostade vindruvor. Till huvudrätt varsin pizza. Men eftersom vi hade  en köksmästare i sällskapet överlämnar jag ordet till honom: ”Rustik elegans. RÃ¥varorna fick tala för sig själva. Generellt bra meny. En mozzarella som inte borde gÃ¥ att hitta pÃ¥ annat ställe än italien. Perfekt krispiga pizzabottnar som man bara kan fÃ¥ i vedungn. En show i sig att se tvÃ¥ kaklade pizzaungnar som det brinner ordentligt i. Bra krut pÃ¥ grejerna och trevlig, varm stämning. Gillade servitören och hovmästaren. En lekfullhet som man inte ser i Stockholm. Allt annat än stifft, men ändÃ¥ med finess.” Undertecknad dricker visserligen allt med sprit i, men bartendern i sällskapet tyckte att drinkarna var ”innovativa men obalanserade”. Extra plus till servitören som hällde upp en munfull rödvin till den gravida med orden ”a toast for the baby. A glass of wine never hurt my daughter”. Fin kväll som slutade med kollektivt matkoma.

ENGLISH: We took Stefan and Jeanette to our old favorite Pulino’s (282 Bowery) for a simple Saturday night dinner. Although we had to wait an hour to get seated, let me tell you, the cheese and bread-feast coming up was worth it! For starters an ah-mazing mozarella barrata and baked ricotta with roasted grapes. But since we had an executive chef in the company, I’m letting him take it from here: ”Rustic elegance. They let the natural ingredients speak for themselves. In general a really good menu. The mozzarella was so delicious I’m surprised to find  it outside of Italy. The pizza crust was perfectly crispy, thanks to the woodburning pizza ovens. The large, burning brick ovens were a sight for themselves. A nice, warm atmosphere, with great service. A playfulness that you don’t find in Stockholm.” But although yours truly happily drinks anything with alcohol, the bartender in the company found the drinks ”innovative but unbalanced”. Some extra love to the bartender who served the pregnant lady a mouthful of wine with the words ”a toast for the baby. A glass of wine never hurt my daughter”. A fine evening that ended with collective food coma!
