Blir alltid lite lycklig när jag ser Empire State Building på väg från flygplatsen, och sen blir jag lycklig igen över att det är den som numera signalerar hemma. En annan humörhöjare är kaffet på det motsägelsefullt döpta caféet Grumpy (13 Essex St) på Lower East Side (finns även i Chelsea, Park Slope och Greenpoint). Grumpy är knappt mer än ett hål i väggen, men när jag vill lyxa till det tittar jag in på väg till kontoret. En cappuccino och en tranbärsscone senare och jag är redo att rulla.

ENGLISH: I always feel a rush of excitement when I first catch glance of the Empire State Building on my way from the airport, then another rush when I realize that the Empire State is now what symbolizes home. Another rush-giver is the coffee at Grumpy (13 Essex St) on the Lower East Side (also in Chelsea, Park Slope and Greenpoint), which contrary to the name leaves you anything but. Barely more than a whole in the wall, I always pop in on my way to the studio when I want to give myself an extra treat. A cappuccino and cranberry scone later and I’m ready to roll.
